The LCC TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program empowers eligible students to thrive in college through personalized support, programming and mentorship. TRIO SSS helps students build confidence, connections, and a strong foundation for success.

The Lansing Community College TRIO Student Support Services program is 100% funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education in the amount of $272,364 per year for the 2025-2030 grant cycle.

Who is eligible for the TRIO SSS Program?
TRIO SSS is a federally funded program, therefore, applicants must be U.S. citizens or meet the residency requirements for federal student financial aid and meet at least one of the following:
- First-generation college student (neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree)
- Income eligible according to federal TRIO guidelines
- Have a documented disability
TRIO-Student Support Services College Success Tracks
TRIO-SSS College Success Tracks are designed to assist students in developing essential college success strategies and explore academic, career-related and personal development topics. Each track is a progression of content, skills learned, and overall academic awareness based on the previous track.
The three TRIO-SSS College Success Tracks are:
- Track One: Foundation - The foundation track builds study skills, time management skills and organizational skills that every new student needs to succeed in college.
- Track Two: Leadership - The leadership development track is designed to assist TRIO students in developing their leadership skills through a series of workshops modeled from the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society Leadership Development Program.
- Track Three: Graduation/Transfer - The graduation/transfer track focuses on graduation/transfer preparation such as college visits, application essay's, scholarships, etc.
